Wildwood was founded by W.A Bulluck in 1900 in North Carolina. He was a farmer earlier, and then he started his retail shop for furniture. Later the store was taken over by his son-in-law. In 1962, his grandson Bill Kincheloe took over the store. As the business flourished, he started a specialized department for lamps and lampshades where he invented different styles of lamps. He started making customized lamps for the special customers. In 1969, a specific line started creating handcrafted lamps through in-house produce and finished wood which were sold to other furniture stores by a hired salesman. This line of lamps is known as Wildwood lamps.
